Aktion Reinhardt: Historical Contexts, Research Perspectives, and Memory

An international conference in Lublin and online | 9–11 June 2022

On the 80th anniversary of the Operation Reinhardt, the Jerzy Kłoczowski Laboratory of the Institute of East-Central Europe („Grodzka Gate – NN Theater” Center), the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies (Yale University), and the German Historical Institute in Warsaw organize a conference discussing the various stages of the extermination of Jews in different parts of the General Government.

Introduction and invitation to the conference by Jan Grabowski

The organizers stress that an important element of the conference will be the debates and discussions among researchers regarding the studies presented.

A special moment of the conference will be the Lelewel Debate on Friday (10 June 2022, 5:30 pm) with an online address by Christopher R. Browning (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, emeritus). Panelists will be Mark Roseman (Indiana University, Bloomington), Roma Sendyka (Jagiellonian University, Krakow),  and Michał Bilewicz (University of Warsaw). The debate will be chaired by Łukasz Krzyżanowski (German Historical Institute Warsaw).

You can find the complete conference program here.
